Youth Partner Spotlight | Harrison Youth Soccer Club

Harrison Youth Soccer Club (NY)

The New York Red Bulls boast one of the strongest youth programs not just in MLS, but across the country. In addition to finding and developing local players that keep the academy teams near the top of the national rankings, the Red Bulls have demonstrated their commitment to the future of youth soccer in New York and New Jersey. The organization maintains partnerships with over 100 youth soccer programs, providing camps, clinics and in-house training from certified and professional Red Bull youth coaches.

Each month, and will feature one of these partners in our Red Bulls Youth Partner Program Spotlight.

Harrison Youth Soccer Club

The Harrison Youth Soccer Club (HYSC) is a non-profit corporation designed to foster the growth and promotion of youth soccer in Harrison, N.Y., through participation in the Westchester Youth Soccer League and other competitive recreational programs. They provide children and young adults with the opportunity to participate in a soccer culture where they can develop positive self-esteem and build character by learning about hard work, honesty and sportsmanship.

The Harrison Youth Soccer Club currently has 485 players, fielding 29 different teams that range from U-8 up to U-19. They currently offer summer and winter training programs for their members.

HYSC also has a developmental program for students in kindergarten through second grade that has 129 participants.

“Harrison Youth Soccer Club and the Red Bulls have developed a great partnership through the years,” said Joseph Stilo, Harrison YSC Vice President. “The Red Bulls have supported our club with great trainers for our teams and great experiences at Red Bulls Arena for our kids with their professional team. We look forward to growing our partnership in the future.”

Since partnering in 2011, the New York Red Bulls and HYSC have provided elite level training to young soccer players and coaches. HYSC's objectives are to teach, leadership qualities and promote good sportsmanship among players, coaches, parents and spectators.

Eight trainers from the Red Bulls serve as head coaches for the Harrison soccer teams. This structured program has allowed for volunteer coaches to learn teaching strategies that better suite practices for their players skill levels.
