Program History and Overview:

Millburn Soccer Club is a town based soccer program with 100% of the players from Millburn-Short Hills. Each team has a trainer that runs two 1.5 hour practices per week and coaches each game.  While we use some independent trainers the Red Bulls are the training organization with the most teams.  Started more than 20 years ago.

The New York Red Bulls are a very important part of our organization, a partnership that started 5 years ago.  Top level training has helped the develpement of the kids in the club's development program and also train more teams for MSC than any other training organization.  The club benefits from being linked to such a high level and well respected training organization such as the Red Bulls.

Tournaments and Events:

Many teams participate in the Essex Fall Tune Up and Cougar Memorial Day Tourney.

Community Service, Fundraising, Special Causes:

Breast Cancer Awareness. Each year we raise money for breast cancer by selling pink soccer socks and teams wear them for the month of October.

Program success stories:

Fall 2017,  the Rowdies, 2003 girls won flight 1 in MNJYSA.

Fall 2017, the Stars, 2006 girls went to the semi finals of Presidents Cup State Cup. Currently, playing in EDP premier flight after going undefeated in MNJYSA Flight 1 during the 2016-2017seasons.

Spring 2018, the 2003 Revolution lost in the semi finals of the NJYSA Commissioners State Cup.

Quote from the club:

“MSC has provided Millburn /Short Hills with a quality youth travel soccer program for over 20 years.  Structured as a non-profit organization, the club promotes youth soccer that is geared towards players who want to learn, train and play at the highest levels of competition as well as lower levels.

We currently have 30 boys and girls teams ages U7 through U15 in various leagues such as - MNJYSA & EDP.  Each team has professional training 2x per week, league competition, tournaments, and in some cases NJ State Cup competition. We also offer comprehensive developmental programming for kids of all ages where we currently have 160 kids participating. The Red Bulls train many of the teams, but we also have many other qualified independent trainers.”

Scott Barishaw, President - Millburn Soccer Club

Quote from the Red Bulls:

"Millburn Soccer Club is one of our many important youth soccer partners.  We have enjoyed a long lasting and successful partnership over the years providing professional training to the young players of the Millburn / Short Hills community.  The club has fully embraced the Red Bulls Red Print for Player Development and the players are seeing the results with many attending our elite player pathway program through the Regional Development Schools (RDS).  In addition to training, the players enjoy unique opportunities to attend Red Bulls home games as well as participate in unique game-day activities.  We are glad to have Millburn SC as part of our Red Bulls family and are gracious they have welcomed us into their community."
