On Sunday, April 28th, twelve members of Red Bulls Youth Programs ran the New Jersey Relay Marathon. Unlike their normal day-to-day exercise, these miles were not on the soccer field, but instead on the streets of Asbury Park, in New Jersey’s largest organized run.
Swapping their soccer cleats for running shoes, these team members were committed to supporting Red Bulls’ annual Light it Up Blue campaign, in aid of Autism Speaks, the nation’s leading charity dedicated to autism research.
With many runners embarking on their first ever distance run, the goal was to step out of their comfort zone and partake in a whole different type of training. The ultimate objective was to raise awareness of the charity, dedicated to lowering the age of diagnosis of autism in children.
With the support of the families of participants in Red Bulls Youth Programs, the team successfully raised close to $9000, with all funds going directly to Autism Speaks. In conjunction with Red Bulls other initiatives – including the Autism Awareness Day at Red Bull Arena - over $20,000 was raised in 2019.
With the three teams crossing the finishing line together, RBYP united not only with one another, but also with their supportive participants, to make a difference in the lives of those affected by autism.
We would like to thank all who donated!
