The New York Red Bulls boast one of the strongest youth programs not just in MLS, but across the country. In addition to finding and developing local players that keep the academy teams near the top of the national rankings, the Red Bulls have demonstrated their commitment to the future of youth soccer in New York and New Jersey. The organization maintains partnerships with over 100 youth soccer programs, providing camps, clinics and in-house training from certified and professional Red Bull youth coaches.

Each month, RedBullsAcademy.com and NewYorkRedBulls.com will feature one of these partners in our Red Bulls Youth Partner Program Spotlight.

Verona United Soccer Club

Verona United Soccer Club, based in Essex County, New Jersey, has been a partner of the New York Red Bulls since 2008 and serves local towns such as Caldwell, West Caldwell, Cedar Grove, Montclair and North Caldwell.

"Seeing our program grow and seeing soccer as such a central part of youth sports in our town brings us such pride," said Justin Marriott, Training Coordinator for Verona United SC. "We couldn't do it without our countless parent managers and our Red Bulls trainers. It's a true partnership and one we wish to see continue."

Since 1999, Verona United SC has worked to promote competitive soccer in the Verona community. The club serves to assist and develop player skills while maximizing our ability to field competitive teams, teach and promote good sportsmanship at all times while staying competitive, and developing programs to improve player development and skills in order to advance success fully at the High School and College level.

Verona United SC has participated in Morris County YSA Leagues, Counties SA league and the West Essex Youth Sports league. Depending on the season, the club fields about 400 players on approximately 30 travel teams ranging from 6-18 years of age. The teams also participate in the annual Mount Olive Halloween Tournament.

Since partnering with the Red Bulls, the level of performance from Verona’s teams has risen, as measured by average flighting and performance in those flights. Verona has also seen their membership nearly double, and experience Red Bulls games as both a social and learning environment for the players and their families.

Recently, Verona United SC has added a U-7 academy program, seen much success on their high school teams and have had two players selected to the 2004 North Area ODP Player Pool. Verona teams have won various tournament brackets, including Ironbound Spring Kick Off, Mt. Olive Halloween Tournament, Pequannock Columbus Day, Pocono Cup, and Bridgewater SA Fall Classic.
