RDS Goalkeeper Programs

Goalkeeper specific training within the Regional Development Schools was launched in 2006. Since then, several goalkeepers have made the transition to the full academy teams. With each RDS location offering a goalkeeper specific curriculum, high level keepers are now able to focus on the position specific aspects of their game, such as footwork, handling, shot-stopping, and distribution.

RDS goalkeeper programs are reserved for competitive and elite boys and girls, looking to receive advanced individual instruction on some of the more complex aspects of the position. All applicants must attend an open try-out to earn their place on this exclusive program.

Featuring an ultra-exclusive 1:6 coaching ratio, the RDS provides goalkeepers with the optimum individual attention needed to fine tune their game, and take their ability to the next level. All players receive a comprehensive end of season evaluation which is specific to the goalkeeper learning outcomes.

Like the outfield program, the highest level players from within the RDS will be selected to represent the RDS showcase tournament teams in competition. Those who truly excel will earn the opportunity to try out for the Academy Team, and begin their journey towards a career as a professional player.
