RDS Residential (or sleep-away) camps are staffed by the recognized RDS coaches, and offer a unique opportunity for players to immerse themselves in the RDS soccer experience both night and day.
These advanced soccer camps feature highly demanding off field experience, where young campers are held accountable to the standards of personal behavior that help to mold a successful soccer player, and a potential academy candidate.
The huge demand for these camps means many options are fully booked as early as mid March. New applications must attend a try-out to earn their space on camp, whereas existing and returning RDS participants are pre-approved for their camp of choice.
The schedule and application process is outlined in detail below. Please review this information first to ensure a smooth and efficient registration experience. When you are ready to register for your chosen camp, the online registration page can be accessed by clicking here.
RDS Residential Camps benefits:
- Camps are available on both a gender specific and co-ed basis, to provide solutions for all families.
- Camps run from Sunday lunchtime to Thursday evening, allowing four and a half full days of training.
- All campers receive a welcome package featuring four training T-shirts (one for each day of training), a water bottle, kit bag, and Adidas shorts, socks, and ball.
- All participants receive a thorough written camper evaluation, sent via email four weeks after the conclusion of the camp.
- Each camp now features a mental training workshop on the Monday of camp, providing players with a variety of performance enhancement tools to help them maximize their potential not only in camp, but in all soccer experiences beyond.
Registration process for pre-qualified players:
Existing RDS participants are pre-approved for all RDS residential camps, and are waived the try-out process. Any player who has participated in a try-out based RDS at any point over the past 18 months may register for their chosen RDS residential camp immediately, without the need for additional assessment.
Qualifying programs include the try-out based spring, fall, and winter RDS, and try-out based RDS Residential Summer Camps. Participation in an open registration RDS summer day camp does not pre-qualify a player for these camps.
Existing RDS participants can get access to a private hidden link, by-passing tryouts, and providing immediate acceptance to camp, by emailing firstname.lastname@example.org.
Registration process for new applicants:
Players who have not previously participated in a qualifying RDS program must attend a try-out to earn their space on Residential Camp. The try-out serves to ensure that all players have been pre-screened, therefore creating the most competitive on-camp experience possible.
There is no charge to try-out, although credit card details are provided at the time of registration, so the camp registration fee can be charged to the card subject to acceptance. If the player is not accepted on their chosen camp, the application is declined, and no charge is applied to the card.
Once you have registered for try-out, you will receive a basic system generated confirmation email. A reminder will then be sent to you one week in advance of the try-out, and will contain all information you need.
Try-outs for Sunday, May 20 are fully booked. Check this site on Tuesday, May 22 for information on a third and final opportunity to try-out..
Each camp location has a FAQ page below, specifically dedicated to that location. Please note that these are sample FAQs and should be used as a guideline only. Upon acceptance to camp, your pre-camp information pack, along with updated FAQs will be emailed to you one month prior to camp start.
