With many RDS locations now offering a goalkeeper specific curriculum, high level goalkeepers are able to focus on the position specific aspects of their game, such as footwork, handling, shot-stopping, and distribution.
RDS goalkeeper programs are reserved for competitive and elite boys and girls, looking to receive advanced individual instruction on some of the more complex aspects of the position. As with all RDS programs, all applicants must attend an open try-out to earn their place on this exclusive program.
Typically featuring a 1:10 coaching ratio, the RDS provides goalkeepers with the optimum individual attention needed to fine tune their game, and increase their confidence in the position. All players receive a comprehensive end of season evaluation, specific to the goalkeeper learning outcomes.
Due to the exclusive nature of this position, the goalkeeper curriculum is only available at select locations. However, an expanded schedule now means that the goalkeeping option is available on every night of the week. To see which locations are currently offering goalkeeper specific training, click here

Those who truly excel will earn the opportunity to try out for the full Academy Team. Since the launch of the RDS Goalkeeper curriculum in late 2006, more than twelve goalkeepers have graduated onto the full Academy teams, at an average rate of two per year.
