Coaching opportunities in our grassroots program consist of full time availability positions, partial availability positions and junior coach mentor program, please scroll down for more details on each of these positions. There are also advanced positions for regional coaches and program coach leads in the Red Bulls largest clubs.

Current Interview Dates (Practical and Theory Interview)

Interview Procedure
Successful candidates will be required to go through four interview phases:

  1.  Phone Interview
  2.  Practical on field coaching assessment and in-person interview
  3.  Conditional employment offer, background check and attend mandatory orientation
  4.  Final hire

RDS Regional Team Coach

•    Required to be available five (5) afternoons/evenings per week plus all weekends.
•    Required to be available up to two weekday mornings (each week) for staff training workshops and team meetings. Specific days vary as a function of the overall education schedule.
•    Working hours will be approximately 18 to 30 hours per week, over a twelve-month period. A coach’s working week is comprised of on field coaching hours, administration duties and attendance at mandatory staff training workshops in the spring and fall seasons. Both elements are paid at an hourly rate.
•    Employment to begin in late August, in time for pre-season training. Coaches who commit to a full availability employment contract also receive preferential assignments to double camp programs (30 hours per week) plus Residential camps during the summer months.  Additionally, coaches will also receive priority in scheduling of winter hours.
•    Coach is guaranteed a minimum of 180 coaching hours in the spring and fall season plus a minimum of one (1) 15 hour camp per week of the summer.
•    Required to attend a mandatory paid pre-season orientation event.

Training Programs Coach Opportunities

Full Availability Soccer Coach
• The Full availability soccer coaching role provides a full schedule of coaching from March through November and has the potential for limited hours over the winter.
• Candidates should possess a minimum of a USSF D license or NSCAA National Diploma, be over the age of 21 and have at least two years of coaching experience within soccer.
• Candidates must also hold valid driving licenses, have transportation, and have a clean criminal record.
• The role not only includes coaching but administration tasks, weekly meetings, and clinics.
• Positions are available in our grassroots community based programs, travel programs or our Regional Development School (RDS).
• Positions would be assigned based on the interview process.

Partial Availability Soccer Coach
• The partial availability is an ideal position for those who can only commit to coaching a few nights a week and weekends.
• Candidates should possess a minimum of a USSF D license or NSCAA National Diploma, be over the age of 21 and have at least two years of coaching experience within soccer.
• Candidates must also hold valid driving licenses, have transportation, and have a clean criminal record.
• Positions are available in our grassroots community based programs.

Junior Coach Mentor Program
• A junior coach mentoring program is also available for aspiring coaches between the ages of 18-23.
• The New York Red Bulls mentor program provides an opportunity for aspiring young coaches to join the organization as a part-time junior coach.
• This program is designed to integrate enthusiastic beginner coaches into the Red Bulls grassroots coaching ranks.
• Candidates should be under the age of 23, locally based and hold a basic coaching qualification.
• Junior coaches will have the opportunity to learn from experienced coaches, attend professional development meetings, and obtain additional coaching qualifications.
