Ironbound Soccer Club is a youth soccer club with a rich history in producing some of the very best players in the state of New Jersey, with current Red Bulls first team and US National Team player Tyler Adams being an example of just one of them.
Based in the heart of the Portuguese community of Newark, the club has long demonstrated its value and expertise in positively impacting young soccer players both on and off the field.
The mission of Ironbound SC is to develop great people and enhance the communities in which we operate through soccer. In addition, the vision of the club is to prepare its young players to play soccer both technically and tactically in a safe and constructive environment while participating at the highest level of national and international youth competition.
Ironbound SC also prepares players to be successful scholar-athletes in high school and college through education on healthy lifestyle choices as well as the college recruiting process. ISC is also recognized as a community leader for player participation in club sponsored outreach programs; activities for helping at-risk youth; and as the sponsor of a nationally respected, annual soccer tournament, the Ironbound SC Spring Warm Up.
The New York Red Bulls is proud to partner with a club that not only holds similar values and beliefs on both player development and fan engagement, but also with a soccer community that has an exceptionally passionate background, culture and pedigree with the game.
Since becoming an official youth development training partner with the New York Red Bulls in 2015, countless ISC players have graduated into both the Regional Development Schools (RDS) and Academy programs.
“Ironbound Soccer Club continue to prove themselves as a hotbed of talented soccer players, and the cost-free Regional Development School (RDS) we operate in conjunction with the club has long been one of our most productive player identification and development initiatives," said Simon Barrow, Sr. Manager of Player Development for the New York Red Bulls RDS. "This year alone, several ISC players have gone on to represent the RDS at the highest levels, through both our winter and summer showcase teams, and a select few have also been offered the opportunity to join the RDS Regional Teams."
"The goal for all these players is to have the best opportunity to be identified as potential players for our Academy, and in 2018, more ISC players than ever before have made the jump to Red Bulls Academy teams," Simon noted. "We would like to congratulate Zidane Yanez (2008), David Lopes, Gabriel Gomez, and Jonathan Genao (all 2007’s) on earning their spaces with Red Bulls Academy for the fall of 2018, and would like to recognize ISC for their significant contribution to the development of these players.”
