A native of Stoke-on-Trent, England, Simon Nee joined the New York Red Bulls in 2006 to recruit and educate the coaching staff to work within the Red Bulls Training Programs and Regional Development School. One of his main responsibilities was to create an effective coaching philosophy and curriculum to develop young players.
Nee started with the academy in March of 2013 coaching the U-23 team. In 2014, he led the U-23s to an undefeated season, winning the National Premier Soccer League. The final was played at Red Bull Arena and future professionals from the team included Sean Davis (signed to Red Bulls First Team in 2015), Franklin Castellanos, Victor Manosalvas and Daniel Bedoya (signed to Red Bulls II in 2015).
In 2015, Simon moved age groups and would go on to lead the U-16s to win the Premier Division of the Generation Adidas Cup, defeating Independiente Medellin from Columbia 2-1 in overtime. In the same year, Nee guided the U-16 Academy team to an appearance in the USDA finals, after capturing the Mid-Atlantic Division regular season.
Simon is a graduate of Staffordshire University where he holds a first class honor degree in Sport, Health and Exercise Science. He has more than 20 years of coaching experience, working with players at every level from grassroots to high school, college and academy.
Simon holds his UEFA A, USSF A Coaching Licenses and Master Coach Diploma with NSCAA.
