A native of Central Jersey, Kobie Johnson joined the U13 Red Bulls in the middle of the 2011 season. He helped guide the U13 Red Bulls Pre-Academy to the semifinals in the Northeast Pre-Academy League Playoff, finishing with a 20-3-0 record.

In the 2014-15 season, Johnson led the Red Bulls U-13s to a number one ranking and won the NPL National Championship, 2-0. The U-13s were nearly perfect in the tournament, outscoring their opponents 28-2. The team finished 5-0 in the tournament, emulating the same superb play they demonstrated all season long.

Prior to joining the New York Red Bulls Academy Johnson served as an Assistant Coach for his alma mater Seton Hall University for three seasons. He helped Seton Hall make a Big East Conference appearance in 2012, the programs first post-season conference appearance in five seasons.

Before graduating from Seton Hall in 1999, Johnson was a four year starter and captain at his senior year. He received several awards throughout his collegiate career including Freshman Male Athlete of the Year, National Soccer Coaches Association of America All Region 1st and 2nd team honors, and two time All-Big East selection. Johnson left Seton Hall after leading the Pirates to four Big East tournament appearances and four years in the Top 25 Rankings.

Following his collegiate career Johnson went on to play a season with 2nd Division German club Karlsruhe SC before returning to the US where he would play with the MetroStars reserves and the D3 Pro League for the New Jersey Stallions.
