Phil Swenda





 
Swenda helped the Red Bull Academy in 2009 as an assistant working with all age groups.  In 2010 Swenda joined the academy full time as head coach of the U15 age group.  Swenda served as an assistant coach at Seton Hall University in 2009/2010.  He started coaching while in college, working with local clubs and camps.
Swenda played his college soccer and graduated from Seton Hall University in 2003.  A 2002 CollegeSoccerNews.com Honorable Mention All-America selection, while also earning First Team All-Region honors in 2002 and Second Team in 2001 from the National Soccer Coaches Association of America.  Swenda was also a three-time All-BIG EAST selection, making the First Team in 2002, Third Team in 2001 and All-Rookie in 1999.  Swenda left Seton Hall after leading the Pirates to two NCAA Tournament appearances and four trips to the BIG EAST Tournament.  He was drafted in the third round, 26th overall, by the Chicago Fire in the 2003 MLS SuperDraft.  Swenda played for HarlowTown FC in England and Hutnik Krakow in Poland.
