HARRISON, N.J. – The New York Red Bulls Academy has continued to push forward successfully through the season, as the U-12, U-13, U-14, and U-18 teams all emerged victorious this past weekend. These teams, including U-16 but excluding both U-12s, travelled to Conshohocken, Pennsylvania to play Continental FC Delco. The U-12s stayed home to take on BW Gottschee Academy. All Red Bulls Academy teams are now a remarkable combined 36-4-2 on the season.
New York Red Bulls U-18 (2) vs. Continental FC Delco (1)
Red Bulls U-18 stayed unbeaten after defeating Continental FC Delco in weekend action in come-from-behind fashion for the first time all season to pull out the win. The game was played in a steady 20-25 mph gusty wind which made it difficult for both teams to play. The Red Bulls came out strong and created the early chances, but were unable to convert.
It would be CFCD that would get on the board first against the run of play off a cross that was headed home in the 25th minute. The Red Bulls would respond right away with two goals, first from the penalty spot by JP Marin and second by Omir Fernandez who scored his team-leading ninth goal.
The Red Bulls took the 2-1 lead into the second half and had the wind to their backs. The defense held CFCD to one shot in the second half and the Red Bulls came away with the 2-1 win.
The Red Bulls U-18s moved to 8-0-0 and will host Bethesda SC on Saturday, October 29 at the Red Bulls Training Facility at 1:30 p.m.

New York Red Bulls U-16 (2) vs. Continental FC Delco (3)
The Red Bulls U-16’s dropped their first game of the season in a game played in windy conditions at FC Delco. The Red Bulls fell behind in the 23rd minute when a Delco midfielder beat three players and then blasted in a shot from 25 yards into the lower left hand corner of the goal. The U-16’s leveled the score in the 40th minute when Scotty Taylor converted a penalty kick. Delco took the lead again in the 54th minute after a questionable penalty kick was awarded and then converted.
Substitutes Julian Kraidelman and Amadeo Chapru-tate provided some immediate spark to the team after they entered the game in the 57th minute as the U-16’s pushed forward for the equalizer. The Red Bulls created some good chances as they threatened the Delco goal on several occasions.
In the 62nd minute, Aziel Jackson scored from 20-yards out after receiving a pass from the left wing from defender Jared Juleau. However, the U-16’s could not keep the lead for long as a Delco shot from the left flank took a wicked deflection that looped over Red Bulls goalkeeper Matt Goodman’s head in the 65th minute.
“We were disappointed with the goals that we gave up today. It was difficult to play today but as a team we need to do better collectively in defending and not allowing our opponents those opportunities to get chances on goal,” Man of the Match Dylan Sullivan said.
The Red Bulls U16s are now 6-1-1 on the season. They host Bethesda SC this Saturday, October 29, at 4:00 p.m., at the Red Bulls Training Facility.
